Hello Kitty Captures The Entertainment Industry

For years, several of the entertainment industry’s top players have been spotted toting their Hello Kitty accessories. It’s not unusual to catch a glimpse of a famous actress, singer, or supermodel wearing a Hello Kitty t-shirt, hat, or sweater. But, other accessories are beginning to find their way into the lives of these celebrities.

Mariah Carey has admitted to having a Hello Kitty hair dryer in her bathroom. Christina Aguilera is often seen wearing Hello Kitty jewelry while out shopping. She’s even been known to wear her jewelry during promotional photo shoots. Gwen Stefani has a Kitty case for her cell phone while Drew Barrymore loves the watches. Many of these elite celebrities can’t get enough of Hello Kitty!

But, it’s not just out in public that these ladies show their dedication. Aguilera loves the Hello Kitty wastebaskets and uses them in her home. Singer Lisa Loeb can’t imagine making coffee at home without her Hello Kitty coffee maker. But, she also owns a Kitty waffle maker and rice cooker.

So, why are these celebs going crazy for Hello Kitty paraphernalia? Loeb says she doesn’t like looking at things that are boring. She likes the playful creativity in her accessories (and appliances). Other stars love the cute, pink characters and want the accessories to show off their own personalities. The Hilton sisters, Mandy Moore, Heidi Klum and even Aerosmith singer Stever Tyler have been seen with an assortment of Hello Kitty products.

The best thing about the trend is that most of the Hello Kitty items that these celebrities are wearing (or using) don’t cost very much. So, you can own many of the same products that the celebs own. When was the last time you remember THAT being the case?

Hello Kitty Online Joins The MMORPG World

If you play MMORPGs (massively multi-player online role-playing games), there’s a good chance that you’ve heard of World of Warcraft. What if I told you that there’s a Hello Kitty MMORPG coming online? It’s actually been in the news so you may already know about it. According to the official site, they’re still doing some beta testing. The last thing I heard was that there were over 30,000 beta testers! If you don’t know anything about the game, here’s the gist…

You’re basically entering Hello Kitty’s world and playing with other fans around the globe. From what I’ve seen, the game has some elements of MMORPGs. But, it goes further by allowing you to talk with other characters and players as the community and environment in the game constantly changes and grows.

Here’s the exciting thing: MMORPGs have been mostly for guys. Yes, girls play them, too. But, the few girls who do are the exceptions to the rule. Hello Kitty Online will probably radically change that dynamic. Girls now have a place in the online gaming world to call their own! 

Hello Kitty Online isn’t meant to compete with other MMORPGs. If you know anybody who plays other MMORPGs (like World of Warcraft), you already know that most of those players won’t want anything to do with Hello Kitty. That’s one of the reasons this new game is so highly-anticipated. It may change the entire online gaming landscape (or at least how people think about it).

Fashionable Hello Kitty Computer Accessories

Every true Hello Kitty fan has at least one type of computer accessory with Kitty on it. But, I’ll bet you didn’t realize how many different Hello Kitty products you could buy for your computer. You’ve probably seen the Kitty mouse pads, but that’s just scratching the surface. Here are a few other accessories that you may not have heard about.

You can buy a Hello Kitty optical mouse that’s actually shaped like Kitty’s head, complete with the red ribbon on top. In the middle of the ribbon is a scroll wheel for easy access. And if you’re going to have a mouse shaped like Kitty’s head, you may as well buy the Hello Kitty keyboard, too. It’s pink (although the wrist guard is purple) and has all the functionality that most keyboards have (buttons to control multimedia options, etc.).

Now, if you really want to stand out to your friends, you should check out the Hello Kitty flash drive. The only drawbacks are that it doesn’t come with a ton of capacity and it’s actually a bit more expensive than other drives. But, they’re incredibly cute. Once you see it, you’ll want to buy one. I also noticed that there’s a Hello Kitty memory card. But, that seemed odd to me. The memory card is going to be tucked away inside your digital camera. You can’t even see Kitty’s face.

There are a ton of other computer accessories that follow the Hello Kitty theme. But, the ones I mentioned above are the products you’ll use most often. They’re all affordable and especially cute. So, this may be the perfect time for you to spice up your home computer.

Strange Hello Kitty Products You’ve Never Seen

When you think of Hello Kitty products, you’re probably like me. You think of backpacks, calendars, sweaters and normal things like that. So, you’ll probably be as stunned as I was at all the strange products you can buy! For example, have you ever seen a Hello Kitty breath tester? Neither have I. How about a Hello Kitty exhaust pipe that you can put on your car? Weird, right?

It turns out that there are literally thousands of products that you can buy with Hello Kitty images (and those of her friends) plastered all over them. Need a label maker? Why not make it a Hello Kitty label maker? Do you play guitar? If you do, you can purchase a Hello Kitty guitar made by Fender (it costs about $230). 

And here’s one for you: the Hello Kitty wedding dress. Now, I love Kitty and her friends as much as anyone, but a wedding dress? Seems like that’s overdoing it a bit (of course, if you own one of these dresses, forget I said that). The point is, if you’re bored with the same Hello Kitty products that everybody else has, you should take a look at some of the crazy merchandise that you can buy. Most of it is actually pretty affordable.

So, when you just can’t do without that Hello Kitty toaster oven, piano, vacuum cleaner, or fillings (yes, fillings for your teeth) rest assured, they’re available.
